Skwirk explores Indian education system

Skwirk’s General Manager Mark Fraser recently returned from a trip to India, where he experienced first-hand the use of technology in schools. Technology partner HTSG accompanied Mark to Mumbai where they spent a week meeting with Australian company Kangaroo Kids Education Limited, touring schools and speaking with teachers and children.

The state Indian education system is very different to Australia’s, but KKEL have introduced a student-focused curriculum into their 69 schools and pre-schools, focusing on the various learning styles and basing activities around higher-level thinking skills.

Skwirk’s philosophy of 'making learning fun’ is shared by the KKEL staff and many similarities (particularly addressing various learning styles and curriculum focus) were identified. Skwirk is now looking at possible future ventures in the Indian Education market.

A big thank you to the staff and children from Billabong High in Malad, Mumbai, for their wonderful hospitality.
