24 hour time
Time
Once, 24-hour time was used almost solely by people in the military or people travelling overseas. Nowadays, 24-hour time is widely used.
The major benefit of the 24-hour clock is that it removes any possible confusion about the time of day (morning or night) as there is no need to use 'am' or 'pm'.
24 hour time
The 24-hour clock is a system of time which uses just four digits to display the time, removing the need to indicate 'am' or 'pm' afterwards.
The format of the 24-hour notation is to first show the 2 digits which indicate the hour, followed by two more digits which signify the number of minutes past the hour.
Examples:
12:10 a.m.
0010
9:05 a.m.
0905
3:42 p.m.
1542
8:17 p.m.

Many times look very similar when converting 12-hour time into 24-hour time, especially during the morning hours. An extra zero is required at the beginning of morning hours to make up the fourth digit, though.
